Gaanappriya Mohan is a diligent life sciences professional with expertise in cellular and microbiology techniques. She has worked in Dr. Kenneth Offit Laboratory for Cancer Biology, and Genetics, Sloan-Kettering Institute for Cancer Research, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, USA, in Molecular Inversion Probe Sequencing for targeted genotyping.
She has also worked with Dr. Raymond Birge Laboratory, New Jersey Cancer Center & Cancer Institute of New Jersey (CINJ), Newark, New Jersey, USA, conducting experiments designed to Test the small molecule compounds in tumor tolerance, cancer vaccines, and the clearance of apoptotic cells.
She has authored and published several research papers in International peer reviewed journals and has filed one patent which is under review. She has completed four major projects funded by premier Government organizations.
She was bestowed with the Recognition award by Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre, New York in 2018. She has also been given the "Best Women Scientist" and "Young Women Scientist". awards. She has been conferred with meritorious student award throughout her graduation and post-graduation. She is a multi- faceted personality. She won the "Nutpam Award" for her contribution to Tamil Literature, a National Championship in Karate, another National Championship in Yoga and a Best Dancer award. She is also a writer whose stories, poems and articles are published in Indian , American and German literary magazines.
